Why it’s important to know all about technical parameters of an digital camera? When you have to choose from many photo cameras and you don’t know nothing about parameters of photo camera (resolution , sensors , and other characteristics ) it’s very hard to choose the best camera for you. What you must to know when you want to buy a photo camera ? The main technical data which it’s good to know are : Lens of camera – good lens result good quality picture ; in cheep cameras are used plastic lens (not so good in comparison with glass lens ). Megapixels- One pixel it is the smallest element from images . Each pixel it’ s a very small sample from one image and contains three colors (red , green ,blue ; RGB) or four colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black ; CMYK). One megapixel represent one million of pixel . A display with more megapixels can display large images . If we have an photo camera with 8 megapixels we can make large size photos than with an photo camera 5 megapixels sensor . Optical zoom – it’s mechanical zoom lens ; with this option you can vary focal length . Usually optical zoom is 3x (3:1) , 4x (4:1) or even 5x(5:1) . There are some cameras that have more zoom x but in this case increase the camera size . Digital zoom – with this function we can zoom more an image but digital zoom it’s not so good like optical zoom because picture’s quality in many cases becomes unacceptable. Shutter speed –it ‘s represent exposure time interval ; amount of the time that the shutter is open. The shutter speed it’s measured in seconds . If you want to take a photo of some moving object we need short time shutter ( 1/1000 ) but if we need to take photo of some static object we don’t need so short time shutter speed (we can use 2 seconds for example . For traditional photo camera the shutter speed was representing the time of film exposed to scene . Image Stabilization it is a technology from digital camera to reduce vibration and anti-shake . Image stabilization helps prevent pictures from becoming blurred and it’s helps when it’s use slow shutter speed . The image stabilization system can be make moving optical elements inside the lens or stabilizing the shot ( by moving the sensor ). Iso setting it’s the sensitivity of CCD sensor . The Iso is “measured” in numbers 80 , 100 , 200 , 400 , 800 ,1600 , 3200 . The lowest number represent the lower sensitivity to light and the highest number represent the high sensitivity to light . In digital photos camera the ISO setting can be adjusted manual or automatically .In many cases when we want to take a photo in dark place to a moving object we need to adjust the iso setting to increase the shutter speed . For example , if we take a photo of moving object at ISO 200 exposure time will be 1/30 ( result poor quality picture ) but if we use ISO 800 exposure time will be 1/125 s and the picture can be normal. In the traditional photo (film ) camera Iso indicate how sensitivity it’s the film to light . Photo-flash light- without a photo flash you cannot take photos in night
